A Prologue.

A permanent and personal photo gallery, at long last.

I still remember the day I first got behind a camera. It was a pocket-sized, point-and-shoot digital Fujifilm. Being the young car buff that I was, I loved taking it to race days and exotic car shows. While the “digital pocket camera” tech was impressive at that time, I couldn’t say the same about my end results. The photo “subjects” might be drool-worthy, but that’s about it – in the end, it was “a photo of a nice car”, not “a nice photo of a car”. And as time went on, learning how to do the latter became an interesting prospect.

Of course, the changes in my photographic vision didn’t happen overnight – nor did they easily happen like turning a hand over. But there was one thing I made certain from early on; that I shouldn’t try to be the best. Rather, I should try to be a better person compared to who I was the day before. Self-improvement bluffing aside, this website is the largest entry in my bucket list of bettering myself every day.

For the past three years of my photographic journey, I’ve settled on using Instagram as a means of showcasing my works. But between likes, engagements, and – do not try this at home – meeting people’s expectations, posting on said platform became a chore. While it’s important to know that likes and comments don’t define the quality of a photo, it’s very easy to get disillusioned and lost between those two fame-deciding factors. The artist in you would be left dusted in the corner of your cerebrum as you remain forever stuck in the quest of unlocking the algorithm, or choosing between quality or quantity.

And thankfully, Instagram-like “engagement” isn’t the focus here. This website will serve as a platform to archive and showcase my automotive misadventures, ranging from full galleries of “photo sets” once seen on my Instagram to previously unpublished works, in which both contents would be seen between two main parts of this website:

Blog

This is where full-length and in-depth articles will live. Whether it’d be about reviews, photo shoots, behind the scenes, or even random thoughts. This section of the site will also have several “archives” of articles that I’ve previously written in a separate blog belonging to a few of my friends called “The Motoring Manifesto”. You can find them on Instagram as @motoringmanifesto. Check them out for high quality content from the local car culture!

Gallery

This is where full photo galleries will live in tandem with blogs. Posts made in this section will contain minimum words, as they would be covered in their own corresponding blog posts.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, the only thing I’d admit is that this site has been long overdue, and it was nobody else’s fault but me. I would like to say thanks to my dad and his programmer who helped assemble this site. I hope you guys enjoyed reading through this site the same way I enjoyed writing it.

Cheers!
